Someone To Go Home To

Words and Music by Jonny Olsen

We started our journey in St. John's Newfoundland
The cabbie told us something
That we couldn't really understand
Spent our days just playing our percussion
Grinding at Benders and drinking White Russians
I took a moment to pause in the can
When I came back, Tony was doing the Superman
He won first prize for his dancing competition
That's what you get when you have no inhabitions

Hey, what time is it?
Hey, what time is it?

We stopped at Water Street
That's what it said on the sign
So we hit the roof and we soaked the people walking by
The cops came so we got up and we ran
And we jumped from roof to roof
Like a loaded Jackie Chan

We got a plane back to Wasaga Beach
Still hung over from our week of getting screached
But before we knew we were hanging back in Gander
Trying to do our best to find a pretty Newfoundlander

Chorus:
Hey, well I'm feeling right wacked
Hey, do you think they'll come back
Heyeyeyeyeyeye!
Heeeeeeeeeeeey!
And all I wanna do, is getta bit of booty or two
But everybody knows that it's true
All you need is someone to go home to

Driving through Quebec on the Jean Lesage autoroute
Tony told a joke and then
I choked and really had to puke
Wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't driving at the time
But it is kinda funny when you're heaving at 129km/hr
I washed my shirt in the Fleuve du St. Laurent
It felt like my body did a demenagement
Then we walked through the forest
Because we really had to go
And we stumbled on a fort built by Robinson Crusoe

Hey, what time is it?
Hey, what time is it?

We made a little stop in Rivière-du-Loup
Dancing at the disco, what else are you gonna do?
Then we busked on the boardwalk in good old St. John
If that is where it started, something's really wrong
Another evening clubing at the Hot Spot
Trying to score but we never really got a lot
I found a honey young enough to be a school girl
Tony ran home and got chased by a cougar

Chorus

When I'm on the run, I'll be dancing in the sun
Come on everybody, we be having lots of fun
Puts your pants on, put your shirt on
Put your booties on
You got to get it, get it goin' on

In Halifax, hanging out with Jay Ess
Pizza corner, everything was such a mess
He met a girl, she left, well that's her loss
Then one morning we caught him with the big boss
Tony's last night, looking for his last score
We made beer angels in the middle of the dance floor
He met a girl, she was such a motivator
They had fun riding on the elevator

Chorus

We started our journey in St. John's Newfoundland (Signal Hill)

And we jumped from roof to roof
like a loaded Jackie Chan

All you need is someone to go home to

We made a little stop in Rivière-du-Loup
, dancing at the disco, what else are you gonna do?

Put your booties on
