         Junkyard Symphony rocks the streets in a busker style performance, with awesome antics, Junkyard Jokes, terrific tricks, primal percussion and of course plenty of participation. With their "GOT2DRUM" license plate hanging from their set up, Junkyard Symphony demonstrates how rhythm is truly infectious! This show is perfect for busker festivals, street festivals, block parties, backyard parties, museums, community events.

Background
         The Super Street Show was the first show developed by Junkyard Symphony back in 1991 when Jonny and Christian spent their days on the Sparks Street Mall busking for the lunchtime crowd. Originally the show lasted only fifteen minutes, and the only trick in the show was Jonny playing a catalytic converter from a six foot unicycle. Eventually more and more tricks were added and Junkyard Symphony quickly caught the eye of Busker Festivals from around the country. It wasn't long before Junkyard Symphony dazzled crowds at the Halifax Buskers Festival, the Kingston Busker Rendezvous, and even the Singapore River Buskers Festival, winning awards like the "Best Act that Defies Description", "Best Musical Act", or "Most Amount of Props for a Street Show" ( In the early days there was no small or medium set, just the large set). Junkyard Symphony still performs at Busker Festivals, using the newly redesigned medium set which is more compact, easier to transport, not quite as loud, and can all fit on a plane with no added costs. How is that for junk engineering! That's why we call the Street Show Super!

Junkyard Symphony beleives in making entertainment available to everyone, so we have created 4 price categories in order for organizations from all walks of life to afford our shows.

  • 1: Large Business, Large Festivals, National/Provincial Government, Exhibitions, Famous People
    (i.e. Corel, Cognos, Alcatel, Nortel, Tulip Festival, Winterlude, Bluesfest, HRDC, Ministry of the Environment Super Ex, Klondike Days, Tragically Hip, Prime Minister of Singapore, Prime Minister of Canada, Ziggy Marley)

  • 2: Small Business, Small Festivals, Non-Profit Festivals, Fairs, Municipal Government, Upscale Events, Theatres + Halls
    (i.e. Joe's Restuaraunt, Chesterville Fair, Perth Maple Fest, City of Ottawa, Ville de Gatineau, Belleville BIA, Bar Mitzvahs, Weddings, Graduation Parties, Acadamy Theatre)

  • 3: Schools
    (i.e. Elementary, Middle, Secondary, College, Univeristy)

    * Each additional show in a day, in the same location is half price.

    * For a second show that day , in a different location, but in the relative vacinity,
                5% off both shows. Both groups share travel costs.
    * For a third and fourth show ond day 2 , in a different location, but in the relative vacinity,
                10% off all shows. All groups share travel costs.
    * For a fifth and sixth show ond day 3 , in a different location, but in the relative vacinity,
                15% off all shows. All groups share travel costs.

    * 5% GST will be added to the price, as well as travel costs if your event is outside the Ottawa area- $75 per 100km from Ottawa.

    * Accommodation/food charges will be added if we must stay overnight.

    * For shows farther than 150km, a premium will be added for travel time if we are performing just one show, however if other shows in the area or on the way are found to create a small tour, the premium will be removed.



    Booking the Super Street Show

    1. To see if Junkyard Symphony is available on the day of your event, visit our Dates Page.

    2. Junkyard Symphony has 4 sets of "Junk" to cater to different sized audiences and performance areas. To decide how much junk you want us to bring, visit our Junk Page.

    If you are unsure of which show or drum set you would like, describe your event and performance area and we will recommend something for you.

    3. Now send us an email. Tell us about your organisation, whether it is a large business, a small business, a school or a community/charity group, let us know the name and address of the event, the date and the time, and a contact phone number, and we will send you an invoice.
